1. The Vietnam was America's most controversial war. Many Americans died
in the midst of all of the battles as protests raged at home. Briefly research the war. In
a short paper, answer these questions:
- Why did the US get involved there, both specifically and as a matter of
overall foreign policy?
- At the greatest level, what was the extent of the US combat power in
Vietnam?
- In casualties, how does Vietnam compare to other wars the US has fought?
- Why were there such strong protests against the war?
